This antique
hand carved religious wooden altar case with Mother Mary Statue was acquired
from a very old church in Goa. Around 200 years old, the carved wooden
sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus and is done with very
intricate lifelike detailing. The sculpture of Mother Mary is hand carved from
a single piece of wood. They are mounted inside a wooden display that
has a glass door and a routed base. The wooden cabin is made of pure teak wood which
is really a perfect tabernacle for a prayer altar. This set is a very rare antique piece, imposing
historical interest and it would be a worthy acquisition for an antique lover.
