This is a 19th century Metal mask in the form of a boar's head, with flaring nostrils, staring eyes and lolling tongue. This is Panjurli, the minor deity or Bhuta revered in the bhuta cult of the south Kanara coast (south-western Karnataka). Sculptures such as this are not for wearing but act as the form of the god during puja.
