This beautiful piece steeped in the Islamic history of India is a wonder to look upon. Hand engraved in 18th Century Kerala, and immensely heavy, this brass platter has seen use within Mosques and homes. This unique piece has the carvings that depict the rich engraving tradition within South India, with particular influence from the Persian school of design. The outer ring has embossed images of parrots and peacocks, and the inside has an extremely intricate, flowing set of floral and Arabic patters. Concentric circles, with little imprints in the form of dew drops, all make this circular piece a free flowing work of art. It remains in excellent, with the original sheen and casing of the best quality brass. An extremely decorative piece, this would be the highlight and centre piece of any room possible.
