This charming antique kunkum holder is an incomparable symbol of Hindu culture in India. Meant to hold the sacred Sindoor, worn by women after marriage, it is pocked with little engravings all around, giving the silver a depth to its inherent sheen. Used traditionally to keep a woman's boudoir meticulous, it rests on three tiny legs that hold it at an elevated level for easy fingertip access. It has a simple hinged lid with a rounded handle; and would make an excellent gift to someone on a special day.
